S&C Ranks Highly in The Lex 100 Trainee Survey in the U.K.

S&C's London office has been highly ranked in the 2015-2016 edition of The Lex 100, a guide to trainee solicitor programs that is distributed to students across the U.K. S&C was ranked as having the number one trainee solicitor program in the U.K. in seven categories: client contact, diversity, financial remuneration, job satisfaction, living up to expectations, quality of work and vacation scheme.

The Lex 100 rankings are the product of a survey in which over 3,000 trainee solicitors from 165 employers were asked to rate their firms across 13 different categories. In addition to the seven categories in which S&C was ranked number one in The Lex 100, it was also highly ranked in four further categories: confident of being kept on; friendliness of the firm; international secondments and social life.

The trainee program is designed to recruit trainees for long term careers with the Firm. All four of the first class of trainees, who joined the firm in September 2013, qualified as solicitors in September 2015 and are now associates in the General Practice Group in the London office. A second class of four trainees have now been with the Firm for a year, and the most recent class of four trainees started at the beginning of September 2015. The success of the program has led to an expansion of future trainee classes: a further 12 students (six per class) have accepted offers to join the 2016 and 2017 trainee classes. With between four and six trainees in each class, the small class size allows for genuine mentoring opportunities and a customized approach that fits the strengths and interests of each trainee.

The Lex 100 survey is just the most recent accolade for S&C’s U.K. trainee solicitor program. In May 2015, LawCareers.Net named S&C “Best Recruiter-US Firm in the City” and, in addition, Mr. Perry was listed as a finalist for “Best Training Principal,” having previously won the award in 2014.
