Alumni of Boston University School of Law at Sullivan & Cromwell work within each of the Firm’s four main practice areas in New York, Washington, D.C., and abroad. The Firm’s two partners from BU Law, Steve Ehrenberg and Andrew Gerlach, graduated together in the class of 2002 and were elected to the partnership in 2010. Steve, a member of the Firm’s Litigation Group, represents global and U.S. companies and financial institutions in complex securities and antitrust litigation, regulatory enforcement matters and corporate internal investigations. He was a member of the S&C team in Cole v. Arkansas, a lawsuit that successfully challenged the constitutionality of an Arkansas statute prohibiting cohabiting couples from serving as adoptive or foster parents on both state and federal grounds. Andrew, a partner in the Firm’s Financial Services and Mergers and Acquisitions groups, focuses his practice primarily on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, securities offerings and similar transactions involving financial institutions. He also advises clients on a variety of regulatory, takeover defense and corporate control, general corporate, strategic and corporate governance matters. He was named a Law360 “Rising Star” in Banking for 2014.
