More than 30 graduates of the University of Chicago Law School currently practice at Sullivan & Cromwell. Their backgrounds, practice areas and interests are diverse—they attended 23 different undergraduate schools; practice in our Appellate Litigation, Capital Markets, Criminal Defense and Investigations, Financial Services, IP Litigation, M&A, Real Estate, Securities, and Securities Litigation groups; are resident in seven of our offices in the U.S. and abroad; and speak 10 languages, including Japanese, German, and Italian. Two S&C lawyers who are alumni of the University of Chicago clerked on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Partners Camille Orme (University of Chicago ’00) and Alex Willscher (University of Chicago ’00) head our recruiting efforts at the University of Chicago. Camille, who is a member of the Firm’s Financial Services and Corporate and Finance groups, is Co-Chair of S&C’s Women’s Initiative Committee and Deputy Associate Development Partner for the Firm's Financial Services Group. Alex is a member of S&C's Criminal Defense & Investigations Group and served for six years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York.

In addition to becoming partners at S&C, University of Chicago alumni who join the Firm after law school go on to pursue a range of prestigious opportunities. S&C alumni who attended the University of Chicago Law School currently work in government (including as a judge of the U.S. Tax Court), investment banking, and academia, as well as in management positions for Fortune 500 companies.
