Alumni of Boston University School of Law at Sullivan & Cromwell are based in our New York, Tokyo and Washington, D.C. offices. Three S&C partners graduated from BU Law: Steve Ehrenberg, Andrew Gerlach and Dustin Guzior. Steve Ehrenberg and Andrew Gerlach, graduated together in the class of 2002, were elected to the partnership in 2010, and currently serve as the BU Law School recruiting team heads for the Firm. Steve, a member of the Firm’s Litigation Group and Co-Coordinator of the Firm's Commodities, Futures & Derivatives Group, represents global and U.S. companies and financial institutions in complex securities, commodities and antitrust litigation, regulatory enforcement matters and corporate internal investigations. He was a member of the S&C team in Cole v. Arkansas, a lawsuit that successfully challenged the constitutionality of an Arkansas statute prohibiting cohabiting couples from serving as adoptive or foster parents on both state and federal grounds. Andrew, a partner in the Firm’s Financial Services and Mergers and Acquisitions groups, co-head of the North America insurance practice, and an associate development partner, focuses his practice primarily on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, securities offerings and similar transactions involving financial institutions. He also advises clients on a variety of regulatory, takeover defense and corporate control, general corporate, strategic and corporate governance matters. Dustin, a member of the Firm’s Litigation Group, was elected to the partnership in January 2019. Dustin’s practice focuses on antitrust and intellectual property matters, as well as complex commercial disputes in arbitration proceedings and trials. He was recently named to the “Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40” list by the National LGBT Bar Association and Foundation.
BU Law alumni at S&C—who work in our General Practice (corporate) and Litigation groups—have a broad range of professional and personal interests.
