Individual students. We serve as counsel on several cases, securing free and appropriate education as required by state and federal law.
Co-sponsoring the National Summit on Effective Implementation of the Fostering Connections to Success Act. The summit focused on support, including legal services, to children aging out of foster care.
Partnership for Children’s Rights. PFCR is a not-for-profit law firm that provides free legal services to disabled children from low-income families throughout New York City in the areas of special education and children’s SSI disability benefits. We provide counsel in its governance matters.
Legal Clinic for Homeless Families at Briarwood Family Shelter. S&C and Goldman Sachs held a legal clinic at the Briarwood Family Shelter in Jamaica, Queens, providing information and advice on children’s educational rights to homeless families.
