University of Texas School of Law alumni at Sullivan & Cromwell practice within a broad range of areas under our General Practice (corporate), Litigation and Estates and Personal groups. Two S&C partners graduated from UT Law: Litigation partner Bob Sacks (UT Law ’82) is the managing partner of our Los Angeles office and is responsible for the Firm’s litigation practice on the West Coast; Washington D.C. partner Judd Littleton (UT Law ’08) focuses on Supreme Court and appellate work, complex commercial litigation, and criminal defense and investigations.
The practice areas of UT Law associates at S&C include antitrust, appellate litigation, capital markets, criminal defense and investigations, financial services, intellectual property litigation, mergers and acquisitions and securities litigation. In addition, several UT Law alumni at the Firm are actively engaged in our pro bono practice; recent matters include obtaining asylum for an ethnic Hazara woman who worked for the U.S. consulate in Karachi, briefing the appeal of a client’s pro se petition for a writ of habeas corpus, and representing transgendered individuals seeking name changes.
In addition to becoming partners at the Firm, UT Law alumni who join S&C go on to pursue a range of prestigious opportunities. S&C alumni who attended UT Law currently work at Fortune 500 companies, in government positions (including for the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and New York State Office of the Attorney General) and in private legal practice in New York, Texas and elsewhere.
